Lightning Bug Through lilies of white just at dusk, dance little bulbs of light in synchronous fashion. And this is where dreams do haunt with a passionate cruelty. Little synaptic flashes much like that of angry static charges from a raging storm somewhere deep within a tortured soul. A lightning bug caught within the mind, trapped in the eye that forever sees into the night.

Laura, your poem has such an uncanny twist... I have so enjoyed watching lightning bugs, as a child and now as an adult... but you've given it another perspective, of entrapment and passion and torment... you've made the usual unusual.
