Okay so I've got a 'Grains of Sand' Series this could possible fall into ... I already have a poem titled 'Hourglass' ... what the hell is my fascination with this thing called Time and sand. I even have a defunct poetry board called Sands of Time. Go figger ... *shrugz* I think too much sometimes.
An hourglass sits on the desk, allowing grains of
sand to fall silently downward into the next chamber
before being turned back over and the process to
begin again. It is a fascinating sight, to watch the
sands fall, slide down and pile on top of one another
like they do. Yet, I fear that if I watch this too long,
in time I shall become trapped within the hourglass
and buried within the sands of time.
Each tiny little white grain, could they be each a
soul trapped within? Placed there by some maniac
sorcerer to be condemned to rush through time as
sand in an hourglass. Perhaps this is how they were
trapped, mezmerized by the item of time and how
it flows so smoothly in the glass. Until, that one last
flip enchants the viewer and swept inside they become.
Forced to travel down, and then down again. Over
and over as always, sands of time within the smooth
container of an hourglass of time.

This is really quite profound. I find that the contemplation of time can take up a lot of it. But then one aspect of life is experience of time. So whether we try to or not we know what time is.
