This is another revision of a poem I write in 2004.

Sometimes a body just has to go...someplace.

Gone, Gone, Gone
© 2004
Dan Johnson

Standing in the middle of the street
Minds spinning one hundred
miles per hour
But I cannot...move my lifeless feet…

I’m gone, gone, gone
Like a bird on its wing
Like a song I’ve got to sing
I’m gone now,
And I cannot wait to go.

Tossing and turning
through a sleepless night
Visions of pain,
questions being considered...quite insane
Don’t think I know wrong from right…
So, I’m gone, gone, gone

Like a bird on its wing
Like a song I’ve got to sing
I’m gone now,
And I cannot wait to go.

Things are fuzzy,
not sure of the day,
feels like I'm floating
in some mystical way...now watch...as off I go.

I think many will relate to that state of mind, Dan; I know I can. Love and peace,

You have me wondering. Were you just flying off somewhere because you could? If I were you in your shoes with feet that no longer felt the ground, I'd think about just leaving this world and that pain behind. In fact, I think I'm coming up upon that eventuality lately. Only, I still have feeling in my right little toe of a dog chewing on it.
