gentile whispers Tender touches Softness of lips Longing gaze Slow trickle of sweat Passionate caress These things are what love brings Flash of lights Rapture in the moonlight Two bodies as one Flames igniting Feverish embrace These are things Lust feels Love or lust will we ever know What will tell us? When can we be certain? Confusion hinders Love last forever

I think you hit the nail on the head with your last line, love will be there even if the lust can no longer be.
