She is this blue mare
mane washing white against the wind
racing around the edge of the land
hooves pounding
the gulls mimicking her whinny
She nibbles at stars
drinks from the moon
in this pasture of the sky
fenced in only by the horizon
She runs the same everywhere
every night
Two men stand on the shore
waving their arms
like empty lassoes
She has never been caught
never ridden
on most nights
she can't even be seen
