I gave my vow, my promise,

I did so out of love,

I prayed with all I had,

The Lord would bless us from above.

I did not know you clearly,

The man behind the mask,

A gentleman with roses,

Lie laiden love collapse.

So I say to you with wisdom,

To be honest and be true ,

For the real love will come then,

When she knows the real you.

A shattered vase is glued,

It's never quite the same,

It's hard to trust a liar,

In a deceit filled players game.

Love is surely never selfish,

Or riddled with dishonesty,

I forgave so much my darling,

I lost the real me.

So I pray you learn the lesson,

To be honest and be so kind,

To remember children  watching,

As your words echo in their mind.

Teach them to be honest,

To be faith filled not full of fear,

Teach them to be good stewards,

As the time is drawing near.

When they grow to become men,

May their foundation be built on trust,

To stand strong in their commitments,

To do everything they must.

This world runs on selfish motives,

A throw away society,

Where I love yous may mean  nothing,

When the grass is never green.

It's a choice to find the good,

To recognize what's right,

To stand firm on a promise,

To work hard at it day and night.

So it's in love I let you go,

May you find what it is you seek,

I loved you with all I had,

So I turned the other cheek.

I will pray until I die,

For the man I thought I knew,

I believed we were meant to be,

Yet I never knew the REAL you.
