Cramps, in shoulders, arms, and neck,
And down below, but what the heck,
The heart still beats, in one, two, three,
Just for now, from strokes I’m free,
To stay alive is what I’m trying,
When stiff, as a board, in bed I’m lying,
I’ll bent as far as I can reach,
With cuss remarks, in broken speech,
Curse those pills, those damn Statins,
Or whatever other name in Latin,
Cramps I have, you name it where,
To move to quick, I do not dare,
I bend and rob in all the places,
To reach some still it sure amazes,
Yet, with all that rubbing everywhere,
Soon, a jealous muscle, now at me does stare,
And so I ask, what is it that you want, dear friend?
Then out of guilt, I make amend,
Its jealousy, I swear it is,
I hear it say, you never more, rub me like this,
The others protest now, cramp stiff and tight,
I am in-between a muscle fight,
Exhausted did I pray, I’ll put my muscles in your keep,
Finally then, at four, I get to sleep.©20/02/2013

I only experienced a sleepless night once before I was paralyzed, fifty years ago. That was the night after I walked 50 miles for President Kennedy. Since then, muscle cramps have become my friend. It's only recently that I've had to take some medication, unless you consider baclofen, that I've had to take for twenty years.
One thing's for sure, our certain death will cure our pain.
