The beautiful strokes of my daughter's brush inspired me to write this poem. It is about how I think she might feel about the friend she painted the picture for but it also reminds me of some friendships of mine. I hope some of you think my words are as inspiring as I think her painting is.
A Painting For My Friend.
I painted this picture
for you my friend.
It represents a friendship
that will never end.
I look at the sidewalk
that we have walked,
and it reminds me of
the many times we have talked.
I see the shrubs lining the yards,
looking like it’s each ones privacy guards.
With their lively greenery
that made great scenery.
The great scent arose and
passed by our nose.
We smelled the pine
that was oh so fine.
I look at the white flowers to my right
that are filled with beauty and with light.
It reminds me of our friendship
that is oh so bright.
Friendships go through many changes with time,
but dear friend this painting is to remind you
that I am glad you are a friend of mine.

contemporary social issues and gratitude for life.
