What is Thanksgiving all about?
It is a reason to be grateful, without a doubt.
Some people say they have nothing to be thankful for.
Maybe because they are not content,
and always asking for more.
Even when one is feeling low,
there’s always some little thing
that should give us a reason to glow.
Searching your heart and thinking of good times,
with family and friends is Thanksgiving time.
Gathering together with loved ones to have a great meal.
To some might mean nothing, but to many it’s a big deal.
Sitting down to dinner with turkey and all the trimmings,
as we talk about old times and even new beginnings.
What more to be thankful for than being alive and well,
and being loved by family and friends makes one feel swell.
I have many things to be thankful for as years go by.
I hope you do to, if not, my, oh my.
Count your blessings, as small as they might be,
and sooner or later they will grow larger, you’ll see.
Then you will be thankful, just like me.
As Thanksgiving Day is almost here,
I pray that God will hold the homeless
and poor especially dear, to give them help and hope
for a good Thanksgiving year.
