Real Men Do Cry
Looking back on our forefathers as it was suggested too me. I must say that real men do cry.
Ask that man called Crispus, who so gallantly gave his life as a prerequisite for the Revolutionary War. Only to be called a common thug. I’m sure he cried before and after during his short span on earth.
Ask that man called George. Say George, carry this bag. No, you won’t unionize. Do you have a problem with that Boy? Words that tore into his flesh like a knife and unable to retaliate.
Real Men Do Cry.
Ask that man called Martin, who challenged America’s morality. He would see many of his peers; face the many hardships and injustices that would finally consume him. To then perish in a mid-morning rage.
Ask that man called Malcolm, told he wouldn’t amount to anything by most. Ended up being more powerful than the city he lived in. Than to follow something that he thought was, soon to find out it wasn’t.
A Real Man Who Needed To Cry.
Ask that man called Nelson, who many haven’t begun to know. Nelson, a small frail brother who took an entire continent, and put it on his back, making us remember the day, when we were Kings.
Ask that brother, coming from small town U.S.A., constantly being beaten down, but always rising. The metropolitan brother who now has an addiction, spending that money he saved for mortgage. But now has to face his hungry children and explain his untimely paradox and still won’t give up the fight.
Yeah, I’d say the Realest of Men Do Cry.
