Some of us don't have the time like Ron and a few others to always be commenting on things posted Amber but many of the things Ron mentioned are true for a lot of poets I have noticed--- as for me you and Sheila have my real cell phone number and can call me anytime--- as for me. Yes I have noticed the Den doesn't seem what it used to be as there have been many changes in people's lives but my love for you hasn't changed so keep writing and I will keep reading and commenting when i can

Some of us come and go while others stayed like the troopers they are. I would have loved to been present a lot more myself, however, so many other things take up so much of my time. I can only speak for myself and not for others. Health issues have taken some of my fellow poets here away and others did not want to pay for a site that used to be free. I never left but I did post less frequently as I noted many of the newer arrivals did not read or comment on my work and that was my best indicator of how I was doing even thought I took the time to read and comment on their submissions. After a while you realize that it takes a lot of time away from other things when you are spread out pretty thin as it is. I enjoyed your write very much.

Some have gone on to another place. Some have become ill and unable to communicate. Some have been unable to pay for their memberships. Some have not sold their poetry books and become disillusioned. Some have had family issues that took them away from regularly communicating. Some have stopped writing poetry and posting to write that first, or last, great novel.

I find new poets here all the time. In many cases, I'm the only one that comments on their work. If more would comment on their work, there would be more interaction. I don't consider anyone here friends… just poets I know of. Those that are looking for friendship and social networking probably should go elsewhere.

In the beginning, this site was free and there were less distractions like Facebook and Twitter around. Many thought that this would be their website like many think Facebook is today. There have also been some bullying that shouldn't have happened. Some have even considered constructive criticism, like I often give, to be uncalled for, and quit posting, seeking only positive, uplifting, irrationally false, praise.

Nonetheless, I certainly enjoyed your poem. Like Walt says, many are taking a hiatus. I catch them when they come back periodically.

We're mostly still here Amber. But I think of Georg a lot because I guess his family didn't have the kindness to make a post to his friends here, knowing AD was one of his greatest passions.
for me I just haven't been inspired lately.

i have considered the same thought myself many times ... the den has certainly changed ... years ago when one posted a poem it was lucky to remain on the main page for a week ... now, it wallows for way over a month ...

So endurance is what it takes to stay on AD...? I have kind of tried to leave, several times in the hospital I had died but they keep bringing me back...the hospital I go to is too damn good at its job so you are stuck with me as long as someone pays for my membership as there is never enough money in my life now to eat let alone make you all endure my company...-e-

Very nice sentimental poem. Poets exist everywhere. Some move on, one way or another but others move in. However, once we revere a special poetic style, it's hard to find anything that can duplicate the orginal.
