I'm lost . . . or at least I've lost my way
I thought I knew where I was, just the other day
Then things got all topsy-turvy
Somewhere after the age of Fourty
When I was younger I knew what I wanted to be
An Artist of paint, or pencil or even poetry
I found I had a talent for each of these
but the opportunity always ran from me
Husbands came and went until him
Carl put me on my path again
My life was on hold for the children's sake
First I tried Art but that didn't take
then I remembered how it was when I wrote back then
so I set my mind to resume and pick up my pen
But times have changed we don't use them anymore
We use computers, So I went to the Computer Store
Then my life made an unexpected turn Online
I found the Social Sites and I lost all my time
I write my poems but they are few and far between
and reaching the fifty I need seems almost obscene
I try to remember the poems I wrote when I was younger
But my past is a fragmented memory I can't piece together
So I spent my time looking for inspiration
I found in various things life, nature and even our nation
but my poems are week and have no body
My Muse is away Help me somebody
No wait . . . I just realized
She's here right before my eyes
These words came from her, I just had to look
If I keep my eyes open, I will have my book

and you are on your way keep up the good work ,who is your muse? steve needs to relocate his he has lost his muse.
Your poem only reflects your state of mind in this one. Could you be looking in a better place for direction by turning your thoughts heavenward and asking the Lord to help you write? I find that the poems I write without asking His help are weak and --well, just not so good. When it comes from my heavenly Father, it's a different story! God bless you in getting that book together!
