I write the words God tells me to
The words that He would like to say
But if He said the words Himself
Faith's mystery would fade away

Yes, it is a matter of faith
And that's what He asks of us all
Nothing more than just to believe
Believe in Christ and heed His call

Sadly there'll be no salvation
For those who choose not to believe
That's what the Bible teaches us
For those lost souls the Angels grieve

I don't know why He's chosen me
Among all those better than I
For I know that I'm a sinner
But I'm not one to question why

I'd like to say all will be saved
But that is simply not the case
Each of us was granted free will
Friends, don't let your souls go to waste

Simply tell Him that you believe
Having faith is the way to start
I know that it sounds too easy
But God has a forgiving heart

Just being good won't get us there
No one enters who has not faith
Don't fall into the trench men dig
Salvation is yours, don't be late

So I write the words God gives me
For that's what He's asked me to do
And in faith I know that He cares
For you, me, every sinner, too
