Just who are we not to forgive
A person who once went astray?
Just who are we not to help out
Someone seeking a better way?

When we neglect but to forgive
We place ourselves beyond accord
Taught throughout all the ages past
By our Savior and our Lord

To not forgive a person when
They may have breached some earthly law
Shows a weakness within our faith
Aren't we above that man made flaw?

Just who are we not to forgive
Or welcome back into our fold?
Follow what our Lord had once said
While on His cross Lord Jesus told

The thief hanging there by His side
That soon in Heaven he would be
Forgave his sin before he died
God wants the same from you and me

Are we above the words of God
That we cannot a sin forget?
Remember what our Lord once said
That what we give is what we'll get!

And so, my friends, I've made my plea
I pray we find the chosen path
Not one of us would Heaven have
Should God unleash His justly wrath

I thank my Lord that He will not
Undying love God chose to give
It's up to us to learn from Him
If in Heaven we seek to live
