Samuel is a black swan
with only one wing
He swims in magnificent circles
and taught himself to sing

Ariel is nightingale
who cannot sing a note
She loves to ride on Samuel's back
serenading him with her jokes

Harriet is the rabbit
who's forgotten how to hop
She fell in love with a tortoise
to whom it mattered not

They inhabit the world of Difference
where critical hearts don't lurk
Not to be mistaken for
the near-by world of Hurt

Diversity is by far, the best gift a person can give of themselves. Handicap means a lot in World of Difference where compassion makes the world go 'round...Happy New Year, Pat! Blessed Be.

Handicaps are only a handicap if you allow them to be. Differences create interest, without them life would be such a bore. Samuel, Ariel and Harriet share a great wisdom we'd all benefit from acquiring. Thanks for a fantastic write. Dick
