On the shore at mornings,

   Runs a child with her friend,

Looking at the Hawaiian East, the rising dawn

   Over the blanket of sleepy seas,

While dancing clouds, the loving

   billowing clouds, in white throws

   spreading

High up and grasping for heights and 

   reaching down to the shore,

Astride a mist of white yet

   glowing in the west,

Grows large and rests the glimmering

   tears of the moon

And she, the child, only a very little smile

   from below,

Run the delicate soft friends to Aloha Spirit,

From this shore the child gently

   caresses the fingers of her friend,

Those dancing clouds that sleepily give way

   to a brand new day above the laughter of waves,

Looking, happily play

Smile more, my dear child,

Smile more, my dearest,

My wishes splash dreams of hope,

They shall last forever and grant you

   absense of sorrow

No shame

No Fright
