Captives
To me it was always a curious mystery when thinking of man's mortal disposition.
From his beginning to the end of his time here
in agony man has wrestled with his passions and desires,
while trying to control the freedom of their spirited beauty.
And then, while on a journey into the desert,
in the hot sand laid the skeleton of a man.
To my surprise I saw what looked like a cage,
where once were held as captives,
a restless soul and a yearning heart.
But above this prison of bones sat a skull,
and where his mind once was,
now laid an old and rusted key.
