Ask for nothing

 

 Nothing, is what I want

Sometimes we get what we think that we want, 
and other times we think that we want what we get.
 
Expect not to want what we think that we need, 
nothing can be gained from desires that we bleed. 
Nothing is what we must breed to exceed our greed. 
 
Nothing is what I want, to be me,
Nothing is what I want, to be free.
Nothing, is what I want.

Marlon Brando's motto was: "Ask nothing/expect nothing/accept everything." I changed it to "Ask anything/expect nothing/accept everything," but now I see that he had defined it more accurately. "Ask nothing," I understand that now. Translated, nothing is 'no thing.' ~~ Diana
