Fight its way I love to be where the river empties into the sea. The place where the banks let go, and sets the water free. It has been so long ago that the spirited current was a spring, streaming a furrowed path in the clay, giving life to everything. Captured by the earth, it had to fight its way to the end, resting in the eddies, bowing out the twisting bends. Everything that it touched became beautiful to see, carrying nourishment to all the roots, quenching the thirst of destiny. I love to be where the river empties into the sea. The place where the banks let go, and sets the water free.

This piece feels like the tracing of any/all life forms through the earth journey. I find this writing rich with sensitivity and awareness: "Everything that it touched became beautiful to see," Humans, perhaps unlike other animals, are drawn to water for a reason beyond thirst and body quenching....water speaks to our souls. I think that's why humans gravitate to all forms of water and want to live by the water, ON the water.
