The Mess Before Me

The ache is endless, vast
a hole in the heart
a boundless cry
  echoing.

I am falling through space.
Time stands still, and I
seek solace now,
  slipsliding.

I see me split split splat,
a mess made of me,
lost then, now found
  floundering.

In blank space expanding
I am consumed by
what was, will be…
  surfacing.

doing the best through what seems like impossible circumstances is all we can do. 'nothing' is perfect so take it as it comes and we deal with life one day at a time. thanks

this could be something that occurs often or perhaps just once on a devastating scale. The descriptions flow like a stream of consciousness and yet are so acutely observed. An apt portrayal of personal crisis - whether it is something that occurs frequently and momentarily (as in a fit of despair in an on-going situation) or just once incredibly deeply. Always fine work in your den, Dawn. xx
