This song was written to the gentle motion of a grandbaby swinging in a baby swing.

Poem Artwork

Bye oh bye up,

bye oh bye down.

Bye oh bye feet,

way off the ground.

Swing-ing, swing-ing,

I love swing-ing.

Bye oh bye high,

bye oh bye low.

Bye oh bye faster,

look at me go.

Swing-ing, swing-ing,

I love swing-ing.

Bye oh bye flying

up to the sky.

Bye oh bye push me

higher than high.

Swing-ing, swing-ing,

I love swing-ing.

Bye oh bye eyes

are closing now

bye oh bye head

is nodding down

Swing-ing, swing-ing,

I love swing-ing.

Bye oh bye gently,

bye oh bye slow,

bye oh bye, shhhhh,

To    sleep    I    go.

(whispering as swing slows down)

Swing-ing, swing-ing,

I

love

swing-ing.

Wonderful song for children C.J. I can see how easily a child can fall asleep from listening to it; I almost succumbed to sleep reading its melodious words.
Continued success.

CJ, you make an adorable grandma! Love your song, hope you don't mind my adding a verse: Altogether now...swinging high, swinging low, good thing I don't have any teeth to chatter 'cause them butterflies in my tummy keep on rollin' round and round, sometimes even upsidedown...swinging, swinging high and low... Yeah!

God Bless
Love, Lena

Oh CJ! This so much reminds me of swinging Moira and singing the Monkey Tree song I made up for her. And of course the small head tilting to one side, the singing getting softer so as not to wake her. Thanks for this memory.

Perfect. :) You might not want to know what I was singing on the swing when I was 'bout 8 years old...heard the F bomb word, had NO idea what it meant, was making up a song about it.......cold stone BUSTED from my Mom! She slapped me off that swing...Trust me, I don't like saying that word again!!!!!!!!!!! LOL Thanks for the memories. :)

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
