Boy: Once upon
A piece of string
A bridge was built
Beyond.
Girl: What say you, young boy scout?
Shall we pull in vain
So we can cross?
Boy: Once upon
A metaphor
You danced inside
My head.
Girl: But the steps were wrong, all wrong.
Boy: It was the song.
The song was wretched.
Girl: Regardless.
Your blood cells attacked me,
Because I’m a disease
So I pulled off my shoes
And left.
Boy: Don’t lament so.
You left one behind.
Shall I retrieve it?
Girl: Once upon
A flask of rum
Intoxication
Stitched regrets.
Boy: Regrets are dreamer’s folly.
Are your toes cold?
Girl: Don’t dodge my direction!
For you were the exception.
Boy: Why not cross this bridge
Of repetitive conversation
And tie a knot
At the end?
Girl: You are blinded. Hand the flask.
Boy: You are deaf. Take your shoe.
Girl: It seems I’ve bought new ones.
Pawn it
And keep the profits.
