A poem that illustrates life after death

I'm still here

I'm still here
I didn't go anywhere
I'm just not in a form that you can see
I'm operating at a different frequency
I know you always had resistance
to a post death existence
but you've felt my presence, haven't you?
I came back to comfort those I left behind
but I can't ease your grief if you keep a closed mind
to the possibility of a hereafter
I still exist and over here there's much laughter
So don't grieve over me
It's not necessary
We make contact when you dream
because heaven and dream state are both ether
You thought it was just a dream when you saw your dad
but I can tell you for a fact
You both made contact
"I love you dad" you said
and he said, "I know. I love you too."
You felt sad that you had to separate
but through lucid dreaming you'll always be able to communicate
Now your father is a spirit in the light
who you can contact in your sleep every night
You saw a hole that gave off golden rays
You couldn't stop thinking about it for days
I know life is hard and you want to die
but you have to accomplish certain things
When your life's mission is complete then you'll get your wings
You're not alone
We just inhabit a different zone
Deep in your heart you've always known
you're never alone
We're always around
I know it sounds profound
but it's true
You felt someone standing at the foot of your bed
but you thought it was all in your head
You couldn't see anybody but you felt a sensation
We're with you but we live at a different vibration
Like a dog whistle blown that you cannot hear
So calm yourself
Death isn't something to fear
To you, we seem to be appearing from out of a mist
I know the image fades from time to time
but you have to persist
You've been here in your dreams
Remember the field full of flowers
that you lay in for hours?
The countryside so beautiful
The feeling of peace
With death comes release
We do not cease
to be
We just operate at a different frequency
Energy cannot be destroyed
You thought after death there was just a black void
Not so
In fact, after death we're even more alive
even more aware
Unconditional love is everywhere
Love so intense it has substance
and I feel the greatest reluctance
to reincarnate again
So much bliss every day, tears stream down my face
I can't bear the thought of leaving this place
to once again put on a cloth of human skin
the punishment for committing many a sin
when alive
don't miss me
You're only truly alive when you shed the mortal coil
In the East they celebrate the death of their loved ones
Your day of death in the physical world is your birthday in the hereafter
Every day seems like Christmas
Every day filled with laughter
So don't grieve over me
It’s not necessary
I'm still here
I didn't go anywhere
I'm just not in a form that you can see
I'm operating at a different frequency
I'm still here

I'm thinking that this could only be written by one who knows the death of loved one, and who fully understands that death as we know it is simply a transfiguration.

I especially like the notion that they're operating at a different frequency. My grandson hears his Uncle DJ [my son] talking to him all the time.

Welcome to AD Ray. I found your poem to be fascinating, compelling. I believe in exsistence in another dimension.

Haiku of a Wayward Sailor” encompasses both haiku and poems. Many of the haiku are based on my experiences at sea.
