Your eyes glaze over with a far away look,

often to a distant past.

Kodak images, frozen in time –

the capture of a perfect moment

that never truly existed –

other than in a retouched memory.

I do not know why...but I find I must ask...but was it real for them? I love how you express things.

Time and recall season the memory lightly and then glaze over it. Somewhere between the seasoning and the glaze is where the truth becomes illusive. A poem to set the emotions wondering and searching for the core of truth Dawn. Love and peace to you my dear friend. Jon Michael

OUR OBSERVANCE OF OTHERS ARE REMARKABLE...ESPECIALLY THOSE CLOSE TO US. AND WE WISH WE COULD 'READ' THEIR THOUGHTS...THEN WE WOULDN'T HAVE TO 'GUESS' AT WHAT IS ON ANOTHER PERSON'S MIND...WE'D KNOW. WELL DONE AND ENJOYED. THANKS FOR SHARING; LOVE, BLESSINGS & FAITH....JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

Very perceptive of how we sometimes see things, not as they were but as we want them to be...

... ah yes... you can see the paintbrush sweeping across that far-gazing expression, can't you, Dawn?! A delicate and finely-crafted capture of an ever-present tendancy. What's so very sad is that often those prone to such rose-tinted nostalgia seemed actually absent at the time... at least, emotionally. "Ah, yes... I remember it well!" Love this, bless you, Kate xx

Without such retouched memory many would live poorly for living vicariously is one of the arts of the romantic and the imaginative.
You deliver this very well, Dawn.

Dawn, After reading this exquisite poem, I hear myself saying this phrase, "Beauty is in the eyes of the Beholder", your poem is a kodak moment.
Wonderful and to the point.

Much peace, love and light,

I find myself doing this quite a bit, swimming in the past, nostalgic and longing for Kodak moments caught on film which never really developed. Excellent piece.

Dawn,

It's true, time is a memory sometimes only caught in a Kodak. Great write.

It is funny how our memories coupled with time tend to ferment the barest hints of a long ago image into a sharp crisp picture of what we would have liked it to be....you captured that well here.
