As our "leader" holds benefits hostage..consider this

Can’t eat, can’t sleep
Worried if I’ll make ends meet
Fridge is bare
No one cares
How will my children fare?

I cry myself to sleep
Wondering if they
Will have food to eat
I know that someone somewhere
Must care
But when you are a mom
No one feels your pain
I am going insane
Trying to rob Peter to pay Paul
Does anyone understand at all?

This is not a game
Played for political gain
This is life and death
To so many
Yet they don’t care
Powers that be
Refuse to see
The lowly likes of you and me
