Last night I dreamed I stood by the sea,
Grey and motionless and as cold as could be.
And a cry so lonely, so lost and forlorn
Echoed eerily across the pre-dawn.
I wanted to go, to search and to find.
"Not yet!" I heard a voice from behind.
And I felt in my bones the mourning and loss
Of the families torn by the tempest tossed.
Then I saw the beginning of a new dawn,
And a warmth began to heat the morn.
There was a man far in front of me,
And he walked the shore as He had in Galilee.
I followed the footsteps along the shore
Till the sun came up and I saw Him no more.
Then a child who was lost and clutching a toy
Came to me trusting, then a girl and a boy.
"I can't find my mummy." they cried to me.
"We will find her again." I said confidently.
So we walked and we climbed up the cliff to the land.
I held the children in the palm of each hand.
"Follow" I heard a voice command.
And I did, and began the healing of land.
I awoke with a tear stained pillow in tow
And still the dream has not let me go.
So I write my thoughts, my feeling, my will.
I want to be there. To hold and to heal.
