An fairytale for those who still believe in love and maybe even for those that don't..

Poem Artwork

I was lost and feeling so tired and worn.
Wondering on earth why I was ever born.
Knowing that I needed to leave this place.
Needing to find something to fill this space.

I saw a red ticket lying on the ground.
I picked it up and was amazed and what I had found.
Stamped on the front was "Good for any place-destination unknown."
Wow! An adventure and my curiosity and imagination had grown.

The man at the ticket window said have a great day.
But before you go darling, I've got something to say.
Your eyes tell me you no longer believe in love.
Tsk..Tsk..said he and looked towards the sky above.

I thought "What the hell does he know?"
I've perfected this look and allow no feelings to show.
I boarded the train thinking things were a bit out of hand.
The first car was chaotic and everyone was saying you'll soon understand.

Okay, this is starting to freak me out.
Moving to the next car but still hearing the first car shout.
A man was motioning me over to sit next to him.
He said G'day you can call me Bob or you can call me Jim.

Thinking to myself..okay..great..just one more freak.
He started laughing and said "That is what you'll find if that is what you seek."
Geez, I'm in the twilight zone.
The man sitting next to me let out a large groan.

Shoot..I forgot this one could read my mind.
He smiled and said "Yes, Luv we are one of a kind."
Looking around, I took notice that they were all the same man.
I started to panic and acting quite manic and he quickly took my hand.

Each man although the same.. had a different look.
I was swift to retrieve my hand which had just took.
They are all the same man..all the same man..how can this be?
You're about to find out said the man next to me.
One was sitting alone and shouting out obscenity.
Another asking for another cup of tea.
Someone shouting "Be honest don't lie."
He was wearing a business suit and black tie.

One wearing black jeans and a comfy t-shirt.
He smile and winked..okay he's the flirt.
We started talking about this and about that.
He plopped his bum on my hand when he sat.

One guy juggling, obviously the clown in the bunch.
One man eating spaghetti marinara..I guess it's his lunch.
Cracking jokes and real quick with the wit.
Another fellow pacing the aisle and just couldn't sit.

I stood and shouted at the top of lungs "Who are you?"
In unison came a reply "We are You" then they let out a sigh.
I cried "I'm so confused, someone help me please."
Was at the moment, I saw the man on his knees.

I whimpered "Please sir, just explain this to me."
He said "We are each other, it is you that you see."
How can this be? I'm a woman.. not a man.
Whispering he replied "I'll try to help you understand."

All the men here are really just one.
They will all meld, before your journey is done.
Today, you have been kissed by fate.
You already know Mr Willow is your true soul mate.

You are him and he is you.
You must believe and accept what is true .
He is no man and every man that you'll ever need.
Trust now your heart and allow it to lead.

This man he is special with no need to deceive.
He speaks from his heart now YOU must believe.

what a wonderful tale, robin! i'm glad i picked this one to read today, it is so prescient and filled with extraordinary wisdom! we all contain our opposition within ourselves, like the yin and yang symbol, huh...you got that across so well, and i loved the rhyme scheme too!

This was compelling and a fun, rhythmic ride that held my attention all the way from question to closure - or not, as the case may be! A well-told tale - you seem a very relaxed and natural story-teller, Robin - and I like the slightly open-endedness of it. Yes, it is a heavy demand to put on just one other "ordinary" person to hold everything that encompasses perfection as far as we are concerned; and yet, the inverse of that is that, if we are together with the "one" who CAN make us complete in every way (that's certainly not to say PERFECT!!), then surely his imperfections we will love as much as his perfections; in fact, perhaps that is what we will come to love about him - the fact that he ISN'T perfect so that he won't show us up! Sorry, feeling scrambled after the London thing, but I enjoyed this immensely, and thank you for your visit to my pages, too. Kate xx

How very Zen! I love the story, this could be a mini-series, kind of like the Twilight Zone. ;) This also could be taken in more than one way, I love it, keep the reader interested and guessing. A real power-house.

Finding a ticket on the ground with my exact wish would have freaked me BIG times! Now riding a train full of clones of Bob Jim, whoa!! Lolol. Jokes aside, interesting poem, Robin.

God bless,

Sandie.

This is a full course poetic meal... "Mr Willow" sings its
story beyond the twilight zone and can be heard throughout
the four corners of the world of imagination.

I have enjoyed the contents and the rhythm of "Mr Willow".

Thank You, Poet!
