When such a device is made.....

Silly as it sounds and seems
I get my best thoughts from my dreams.

I wish there were a way to record
these slumbering thoughts in perfect accord

from the way they came across in the night…
to reveal them as clearly in daylight.

By the morning they are disjointed and unclear
it makes me want to rant and rave rather than cheer.

I have a great story line in full and impeccable detail,
but by the time I’m fully awake, it’s lost in the gray veil.

Stories of love gone wrong and bad:
tearful scenes with such depths of sad;

tales of parting of such sweet sorrow.
A dream recorder I would love to borrow!

~sigh~ So, until such a device is made
I will sit here sadly in the bed I’ve made.
