I have ridden on the wings of night—
A sorceress in my time—
And hovered suspended in the air,
Chanting forbidden rhymes.
I have danced on the rim of morning
And winked at the rising sun,
Stumbling over the horizon
Like a wayward vagabond.
I have seen my soul swimming in ice
At the bottom of a glass
And fled from the thundering horsemen
Whose shadows crossed my path.
I have embraced the league of demons
And sealed my fate with a kiss—
Knowing death comes not
On the wings of night
But softly in the morning’s mist.
Intriguing concept... "The Wings of Night" flows on waves of mystery painting impressive images with the colors of the raibow of imagination... A thought's striking composition adding value to The American Fine Letters.
