His love, reaches far beyond, and wide.
God’s love is rare, and has great stride.
Only He can touch and purify,
a life gone bad, like you and I.

I Prayed For You

I prayed for you, in church today.
It gave me so much pleasure,
to place you into the Hands of God;
you know, to Him, you are a treasure.

I know that deep inside of you,
that He can see it all.
He knows just what it is that troubles you;
He can fix it, if on His name, you’ll call.

I prayed for you in church today.
I remembered when we would go hand in hand,
to the Only One, the Omnipotent, All-Knowing,
Who found us both separate and alone,
and placed on us, our wedding bands.

I prayed to God, to keep you safe and free from harm.
I knew He heard each whispered prayer;
and I felt Him support my arm,
as I tried to forget your were not there.

Yes, I felt weak and fragile there,
embarrassed too, I guess.
But I knew if I did my part here,
that He would take care of all the rest.

My God, He is the most powerful One.
He is pure and good, and does not turn down one.
No, not one soul who reaches out His way,
will have to leave, or go astray.

I prayed for you in church today,
for God to touch you through and through.
His mighty hands can do it all,
and make things right for you.

His love, reaches far beyond, and wide.
God’s love is rare, and has great stride.
Only He can touch and purify,
a life gone bad, like you and I.

I love the Lord with all my heart,
as impure and torn as it can be.
But He cares not, what we have done,
if we but call, He says, “Welcome Home”.

It hurts me so to look back now,
and see the mess that flesh has made.
We scattered thin, the love God gave us,
but it is never too late for Him to save us.

Your poem is highly effective as it is written in primary voice. In my opinion this encaptures and pulls in faster than any other mode. I always enjoy the unity we share in our understanding with our true source of solice and comfort. And I remember only too well the first time back at my church alone.

BJ - I'd like you to look at "A Different Look-A Love Song". This is under my articles. Though personal, it details dealing with the anguish of loss in relationship.
