A single parent, I purchased my first home, a condo, in 1988. So proud I was of the accomplishment; so many memories there for me as I alone, raised my child... now, I'm selling it... I let it go; but the memories of that dwelling will forever remain.
Alone I swam in the midst of angst
Seeking out a haven of support
Then… HE lead me to a humble abode
Whose provisions were at first quietly obscure
During my stay, the waters were sometimes stormy
As I clamored at a foothill of testing assaults
An enemy “Sarcoid” dealt a massive blow
And you hugged me through victorious battle,
I labored in two pieces of work
And you provided comfort during respite hours,
I endeavored to attain higher learning
And your hedge silenced walls during study time…
You sheltered a toad and her tadpole
As both fueled in the waters of your pond
So as I relinquish of your treasured tides
May your warm and flowing waters
Provide shelter for other sea warriors
And I thank God for His provisions!
