I'm sorry, but I can't help but feel cynical when I watch reporting of the current action in Gaza, on the TV news. At what point does war become entertainment?
Gazavision (C) Bernard Briggs January 2009 Welcome to Gaza The current strip tease Pack away horror The aim is to please Mixing a story Of syllable soup Pushing ingredients Through a bulletin hoop Flack jacket make-up Strapped on concern Camera recording Watch now and learn Stage set for action Panning for gold Focus wherever The results can be sold Hot bullets searching For comfortable flesh Rockets performing For the carrion press Smashed windows crying Ripped curtains and glass Shit television From a digital arse Middle East misery Religious abuse Real people dying For a Media excuse -o- Two halves of a tear Joined on the back of a hand A damp salute In a ratings war
