I know theres is so much going on in the world      today

i know there is so much heart ache in the world today

         got my ccw on file

       sons cryin out loud

lord thought my ancestors was gon spill-up salt water on land

    in honor of em'

 thought the trees were gone spread limbs and dance

     in honor of em'

and i want to write bout butterflies right now

   want to say sumthing bout feet in sand right now

but these niggas round me

want to hoop and hollar and drink gin in the dark

they want to say ain't no change coming

and laugh bout not voting and talk about the smell of pussy still lingering on his fingers

I cried when it happenned and prayed for his safety

got on my rug and touched my nose to the floor and fast and prayed and threw shells and orchids in the river

but now i want to write about humming birds discovering nectar

and the sounds of consuption

  but these niggas round me is crying bout black boys dying wit their shoes on

i miss good soft non-political poetry

i miss secret first-time loving nature poetry
