The heart is where you dip your pen when it is still tender and alive. The soul is where you dip your pen to hear what the heart doesn't want to tell you.

Poem Artwork

When I write-

I live through the words

That flow from my fluid thoughts,

Taking the ink from my soul and heart

And spreading it like an ebony tide

Across a page of my life – giving it a face.

There somewhere hidden

In this vast array of emotions

And among the many thoughts-

You will find yourself wrapped

Gently in my expressions of love,

With every word that I have penned.

It's good that you can write about your love experience in the poems I'm just the opposite: Unless I rated it as a biography or memoir poem, most of my poems are in the fantasy genre.

When I first began writing my poems people would always think I was talking about myself too, especially when I wrote about love. I think some friends in authorsden still think I was talking about myself when I write love poems. I think it is because most poets do talk about their life experiences when writing poetry.

Your poems are very beautiful to read, even the sad ones. I enjoyed them.

Still Living on my Feet by Tichaona Chinyelu

Still Living on my Feet is the follow up to Tichaona Chinyelu’s first book, In the Whirlwind, which was rooted in a sense of hard-hitting revolutionary black love. However, in this sophomore effort, Tichaona brings the revolutionary essence from deep
