Divorce is a silent killer. From the moment the papers are signed, grief comes with the procedure. Your Dad and Mom never speak to each other.
My sisiter worked at the time and we never saw things in the same way. My older brother lived with my grandparents, after Mom kicked him out. My 5 year old brother stayed at my grandparents house during the day. Mom picked him up, after work.
It was 5 years before, I spoke to my Dad again. Mom wanted it that way. All looking for the answer. Some found their answer through sex or drugs. But, all will know one day that these are foolish answers.
For the price will take it's toll on all involved. The broken years of Divorce never go away. They stay with you until the end. They haunt you at every turn. Reminders linger in the mist, when you never have the friendship of a sister or brother.
Dad and Mom wonder why you turn to others instead of them. In your mind the countless hours of being alone, day after day, stands in the way. Even with marriage and beautiful children the curse never ends.
The curse hurts the spouse and children of the adult. With a covenant of love from God, the curse can be broken. You can have a Dad and Mom. You can have friendships.
You write with such frankness and honesty about sensitive and painful issues, and effectively convey your emotions through it all.
My parents did not divorce, we don't have it in our laws, but my father left us for another woman who later left him for another man.
In a separation, there are no victors....only victims. The scars healed when I became a Christian in April 14, 1994.
