Welcome to the world
On this bright sunny day when Australia celebrates
Tennis Balls bounce at the Australian Open
And people bob about in the surf
This is your land, your special place.

No one knows what the world has in store for you
But whatever happens
You will have your Mum and Dad to show you the way.
It will not be an easy road, it never is.
But don't lose heart.
Listen, learn and prosper, the rewards are many.

Your name has a rich history
Great and venerable
But don't be intimidated by it.
Accept its gift for what it's worth
And make your own way
Happy and firm of purpose.

Augo is the name I would like to use
Augo was my godfather
And my father's greatest friend.
A small man with a permanent grin
Augo always saw the world as an opportunity
A chance to make things right.

In time you will decide what is right for you.
Don't assume that what is right for you is right for everyone.
People and circumstances change.
But you will know when you are on the right path
When you feel at ease with yourself and those around you
And have the respect and love of your family.

The world may at times seem cruel
But don't try to judge it.
Try, instead, to find what is good in the world
And build on it.
Stay true to your beliefs
And help where you can
To make the world a better place.
