After being abused for so long ,
Between the lines he refused to communicate ,
Except for dumb mimes .

His mind was confused ,
He needed to find light and hope .

The blues brought him a black dog on the end of a rope .

In a room he closed the curtains on life and lay down with the black dog .
In a while he never heard a sound .

Years passed and the dog gasped its last .
Not a word was spoke .

A new light in the darkness appeared and he awoke .

The nightmare had gone and with it
All the shame and blame .
He took control of his mind , body and soul again .

His smile returned like an old friend who had run away .

Now at last he was home
And happy to be that way .
