In our daily life as man and wife-
Full of laughter, love, and strife-
We wove our cloth with threads of gold,
Creating a pattern, vivid and bold
Meant to hold through all the years
To give support to dreams and fears.
We produced a fabric, all our own
Springing from our very bone.
Through children and work and travel and fun,
The fabric would last till we were done.
Life's common ground formed bonds that bound,
Tighter than chains, but lighter than gauze,
Welded together by love's own laws.
When you find the perfect mate,
You've truly received a beautiful fate.
Hold it tight, right next to your heart.
You never know when you'll have to part,
When the powers above may take your love
And you find that We is again a Me.
