Memories

A stone engraved in memories
Of a life long passed
But never-to-be forgotten,
By those who lived beside it,
Those who cherished it,
Stands tall among the rising grass.
The scattered petals of daisies
A reminder of I dos and I do nots,
Of a love slipping by but always returning,
As new petals grow once more
Into the awakening of a new life,
A new love that will always be carved in stone.
