Rotten is the day
The dark clouds covering
Everything in their wake
Including my heart
That has seen the decay of love
That has inhaled the stench of death
That has felt the sharp slicing of skin
Of words filled with life’s last breath
As the remains of the sun’s rays
Hide behind the silent night
Leaving me alone
To be embraced by the darkness
That will remain
Until you and I reunite
And the sun will wake once more
From its eternal slumber
