A few years ago I had written a poetic tale Treasure that I published as a book. I have always wanted to continue the story and so the first chapter was born. As the sequel I am writing is a work in progress chapter 1 may be edited as time goes on. For now here it is in its entirety as it's been written so far. Enjoy! And please leave your feedback. Thank you!
Treasure Part II - Luc & Belle
CHAPTER 1
Luc wakes with sweat and heavy eyes.
Where is he now? He cannot tell.
He knows he dreamt of some place nice
With his beloved Princess Belle.
But there her name was not of Belle.
There she was Angel, still and frail.
On sandy shore she lay unwell,
Her face so lifeless and pale.
And he was Fin who swam and swam
In hopes to find the hidden land.
At last he found this glorious gem
And with it Angel washed in sand.
First glance at her and he was taken.
He fell in love, was filled with pride.
He healed her then and made her waken.
Knew she was his, his future bride.
They had adventures high and low
As they explored the unknown place.
And through it all their bond did grow,
As did their love’s eternal grace.
Luc is unsure of where he is;
Is he at home? Still on that land?
And where is Belle to love and tease?
He yearns to hold her silky hand.
He turns around to find her gone;
She’s not beside him in his bed.
Perhaps she chose this night to run,
To leave him here, alone, unwed.
When morning came he had a plan;
He’d ask his Belle to be his bride.
His plan’s now ruined. Not again!
Where did she go? Where did she hide?
This can’t be true . Of that he’s sure.
His Belle would never leave his side.
She loves him dear, forevermore.
And she would beam to be his bride.
He slowly closes his eyes,
And tries to block the flowing tears,
But cannot block his painful cries
That now surround him in spheres.
And then he feels a silky hand
Caress his cheek, all cold and wet.
His eyes once closed, now expand,
To find a female silhouette.
Her gentle lips upon his own,
With burning hunger, taste so sweet;
From them escapes a pleasant moan.
His heart begins a quickened beat.
“What’s wrong? Why are you crying love?
I’m right here with you by your side.
You’re all that I’ve been thinking of,
Our days ahead with me, your bride.”
Oh! I have thought you chose to run;
That you didn’t want to be my bride.
But now I know we’ll be as one,
Together always, side by side.
“My life’s complete with you beside me.
Luc, you’re my one and only love.
I cannot wait for you to guide me
To a special place that I dream of.
A place with nature’s hidden treasures,
Adventures, trails, so much more.
A place that’s filled with many pleasures,
Where our love will always soar.”
Oh Belle! This place you speak about,
You see, I dreamt of it last night.
It is a place I yearn to scout.
And nature there – what a sight!
That’s where I found you in my dream.
You were a sight to see and more.
Oh how your face and body gleamed.
It’s there we’ll marry - by the shore.
It is the place of our dreams,
And it is there we will flee.
It is our home. It’s where love gleams.
And in this place is where we’ll be.
“I cannot wait to find this place,
To wed you there by the shore.
I yearn to be in your embrace,
To feel your love inside me soar.”
And so they gather their things,
Get on a ship and sail away
To an enchanted place that brings
Many adventures through the day.
And it is there new life begins
For these two lovers Luc & Belle.
And it is there the story spins
Into a tale I yearn to tell.
Of new adventures, dreams, and love,
Of things that make life’s pieces fit
So they can soar through skies above
And make their life, with days, complete.
