It seems like only yesterday
That I was surrounded by your presence
That I saw your angelic face
Looking up at me
Your heartwarming smile
Giving me a fuzzy feeling inside
Your lighthearted conversation
Making me smile
Filling my heart with joy

It seems like only yesterday
Yet it’s been years
Years filled with your absence
Years filled with returning tears
As the memories keep flooding back
Of all the greatness that you embodied
Of all the goodness you brought
To the people around you

You always put everyone else above you
Always cared about others
More than you cared about your own well-being
You never let anything stop you
And you always did everything in your power
To make it easier for everyone else
Even if it meant exhausting yourself
Even if it meant that this exhaustion
Will cost you your life
