(Guilt..)

I'm sorry God that I complain so many times each day,

I only seem to think of me and want things all my way.

I'm sorry God that I miss church on Sunday every week,

I ignore what people say and daydream as they speak.

I'm sorry that I spend my cash on buying things for me,

instead of helping those poor souls who live in misery.

I'm sorry God when I am mean in judging someone's life,

I'm sorry that I couldn't stay 'forever' as a wife.

I'm sorry God I raise my voice when I feel you don't hear,

I'm sorry when I forget that you are always near.

I'm sorry that I sometimes think the world you made's all wrong,

Sorry I've got angry when the weak get crushed by strong.

I'm sorry God for times I've thought YOU should have stopped all war,

and given food to everyone so none starved anymore,

I know you've given US the brains to solve ALL problems here,

so I'm sorry when my effort wains to almost

d  i   s  a  p  p  e  a  r.

I'm sorry God for all the nights your stars have missed my eyes,

for all the times that I ignored  the bliss of earth and skies.

I'm sorry that there have been times when I've let good things go...

and only when it was too late,

the value in them know.

I'm sorry God because today,I wished that I had more,

and in that selfish moment I forgot a world at war.

Sorry God that I forgot about those forced to flee,

those burdened and restricted with

no chance of getting free,

Sorry I don't do enough to help the sick and old,

or do enough to help those folk who freeze out in the cold.

I'm sorry God that I misread one struggling to survive,

if only I had read them right perhaps they'd be alive.

I'm sorry God that I forgot those longing for a touch,

forgot about those lonely souls, forgot I have so much.

NOW dear God, I'M SORRY, I've brought you nought but pain,

I've been someone who's hurt you so

and I alone take blame.

I'm sorry I can't promise NOW to be good

through and through,

BUT  God...I'll TRY...I REALLY WILL ,

that's ALL that I can do.

HOW REFRESHING, MY FRIEND! AH, DEAR KAY...ISN'T IT MARVELOUS TO KNOW, THAT HE ALREADY KNOWS EVERYTHING? BUT HE LOVES US SO MUCH...HE WOULDN'T DARE TO HUSH, NOT EVEN ONE SYLLABLE OF OUR REPENTS, BECAUSE... IT SHOWS HIM THE FAITH WE HAVE TO TURN AND TRUST HIM. FOR, WE ARE HUMAN AND WILL MISTAKES, DOWN HERE...AND O HOW WE THANK GOD FOR HIS MERCY AND GRACE! FOR HE SEES THE TRUE INTENTS OF OUR HEARTS AND AS LONG AS WE SINCERELY 'TRY' AND HONESTLY 'REPENT'...HE WILL DO THE REST. HOW MANY TIMES HAVE I CALLED ON HIM AND SORT HIS FORGIVENESS...I CANNOT EVEN BEGIN TO COUNT! BUT THIS I CAN SAY...'NEVER' HAS HE NOT FORGIVEN ME! AND WE PRESS-ON, MY FRIEND...IN THE MARVELOUS NAME OF JESUS! THANKS SO MUCH FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS.

"Love means you never have to say you're sorry." Eric Siegel, Love Story.

You certainly have outlined all the neglected infirmities of the world very well in your poem. But I can't figure out why you would want to stay with a God that neglects his creation and gets you to blame yourself for it! Psychologically, that's known as codependency.

Bonjour Kay M-Devenish. If I might say so, this's a most laudable personal humanitarian testament, but it would've been all the more cherishable if you had had refrained from apostrophising that SOME ONE or OTHER who might not have had anything to do with our plight down here on Earth. We have the brains to know that we are to blame for everything - well, nearly everything - that transpires or happens to us down here on this planet. As the Enlightened ONE, the Buddha said: If there's a God, He knows how to do His job; He doesn't need us to tell Him how to do His job (or words to the effect). Have a good comfortable day, Lady.
