HEART DROPSEY
by: Linda Law
Here it is late at night
Feeling sad, something isn't right
Can't rest, no matter how I try
Shortness of breath, don't want to cry
Why do I feel this way
Holding the pain within...day after day
There is no fever, no cold or the latest flu
What can be the matter....I am asking you?
There is a hole, black and cold, of this I know
No broken bones; no joint aches or bruises that show
When people ask me, I say, I just don't know!
Until a friend dropped me a note; I'll share it below...
Have you ever heard of Heart Dropsey he asked?
No I answer... is it serious, will I die, does it wear a mask?
Heart Dropsey he slowly began to explain
Is when you get down, and just don't want to get up!
That's it! Suddenly I cried... that explains this hole
I know this heart of mine has dropped inside my soul...
Perhaps I'll give it one more try...
Lay my head upon this pillow... so what if I cry?
Release the sadness, let the pain erupt from within
Stroke the heart, give it strength, let it get well once again...
LIft its way up to the top... breathe strong and courageous
Heart Dropsey is simply momentary... it was feeling down
Yet now it has begun to lift... It's no longer tired...
This down trodden Heart is strong and no longer dropped
Heart Dropsey is a passing moment, one well deserved
Stroke it, Love it, Watch it begin to beat strong once again...
Perhaps it will return another day... but for now...
It's gone... it's disappeared... Heart Dropsey is no longer near!

A lovely poem about being kind to oneself.
I like Sage's comment, so I'm sending you pillows full of eucalyptus and spearmint. That always helps me feel better.
Blessings,
Christine
Very nicely written Linda, and as Fee says I guess we all suffer from it from time to time.
