Indifference and ignorance are the things many of us Americans hide behind because they require no responsibility. The sad truth is that the more we often understand, the less we often wish we did! I've never been an alarmist or lived in total doom and gloom, but I believe sitting back and doing nothing is not the answer... I was compelled to evoke others to join me in contemplating whatever demise we are on the brink of (nuclear or otherwise) that is mentioned on every news channel we flip to! I also pray we never experience that time when words are no longer formidable weapons. I anticipate and welcome any feedback on this topic- especially.
We reserve the right of freedom to fly Within the confines of invisible boundaries... Under the false pretense of being free. Never to soar to the height of truth's eclipse; For the brave few that have dared... no longer speak, But are spoken of in 30-second clips; While we look on wearing our suits, and Ray Bans.... Sipping latte. It should be an evocation to bear arms With our pens at very least! We've become so entangled by the web. Blinded by our sites of choice. We live in pseudoworlds on checks and ballances For the interest of someone else's account. Feeding on lie after lie Deep-fried in saturated credit. We only know the truths we pallate and possess. Lacking the fittness of thought to find the final resolve: Should it someday come from the fury of our fists... And power of our bullets. All we have left to hang on to is what faith is worth in ideals When words are only words. Copyright June 14, 2009.

I agree that we are faced with great challenges while much of our youth fail to learn the essentials of survival. On AD it is to say a kind word or nothing at all, while writers here stalk and insult one another in the name of their art... their belief.

Like the good citizens of Iran who will stand for no more lies from false leaders, we are obligated to write the truth as we see it.

Thank you for your poison pen. It is very tasteful.
