Never Above Art

empty nest...

East air sighs West words
that she is Berkley's
daughter now;
a splashing, rising light
against a fuscia blue night.

Meanwhile, this Mother
sits
Earth
Bound in Massachusetts;
yet
not
bitter [like drinking wine alone].

Together once we inhaled
night skies,
gulped
down
moonlight
and painted
the moment;
searched rock faces
with no regrets
We knew with certainty that
we were Never Above Art.

These mother limbs grew roots,
but my daughter, Swan,
a rose
out
from her
frantic birth waters,
and into Vision's virtues,
first dawn on other faces….
********************************************************
Once, my children
demanded juice
with infantile bellows;
then, leapfrogged
bright fields
and ran hand in hand,
the Game Child and his Sister, Peace

They left

the soil
outside, entered
home laughing,
we cleaned lake
fish,
ate
melon,
but not chocolate.

They bubble-castled,
lathered, singing
Spring refrains pajammad;
devoured poetry.

Said, "thanks"
to the sun nestled
down,
prayed
to the first firefly
stars

I meditated,
they slept,
rocking softly 'midst
gentle dream-streams,
where they reconciled glass secrets,
incubated gentle thought gardens
that produced thousands of evening roses.

Morning they floated inland
rushes
calmed
sunwarmth lit
a rapidly receding
gold and purple horizon....
********************************************************
Alone
Now
I
Let
Some
dark moments pass

Having
thrashed against
an Alaskan night,
while loving them More
than Time's Greed.

**********************************************************************
Awaken,
find a mirror universe,
wishing to walk the silence
to break

Join in daughter and son dreams
My dearest deers,
my fawn, my frog boy,
my Swan at Dawn
OH Why?.

But I won’t defile the past
songs any more;
only
essential things,
to witness Virtue Dawn
once more on him
who would perhaps need
more sparrows at dusk,
less craving
to look again,
hear,
to say naught,
to float or row
amongst rain- pond
blossoms,
buzzing reeds.
To Give up
ALL
the Ghosts
and Share Love,
Oh Give UP Ghost and Share Love!
*********************************************************

Only vast
indigo longing
remains, windy
fog passing
water falls,
green translucent

Memories:day-frogs prancing at wee wings

*********************************************************
Alone and freed from
marriage uptight as bad candy,
I’d danced an autumn voodoo universe awake,
walked beyond, through
edges, past
babies, into
whisper wooded paths,
with the moon

my younger selves raced across fields and continents,

And
Where I could
not go,
My children went without me.
********************************************************

Daughter Swan
dances moon glows.
She's an airborn leaf,
weightless over all of this mud,

I know that I must
Let
Go
sink down
in
where it's dark and cool

while She holds gently the arm
of life (over there).

Oh to have
her waking
softly in
my home,
this
stretched cord
invisibly palpable,
now, on her birth-round twenty
eight.

This Time! This Dragon.
with tail wrapped around me
unable to float
over
vast blue
longing,

without
regrets,
against
times' thefts;

But to work the colors,
on canvasses Never Above Art,

What creates and separates
us from blue
sky
arising
as mist from it’s birth waters,
and shimmer
ashore
shivering gold

words
