Staring up at the ceiling
yet not knowing whether to
I am still breathing
I stare into an abyss where the time
and reality never ceasing to exist
in the treacherous world where the
human mind seems to stop
in questions and thoughts that randomly zoom
by in a flash or in a state
that seems to sedate my frame of mind
I try and try but I can't seem to take the time
to stop and appreciate
the flowers, though ironically, I've got allergies
seem to smell sweet sweet
like rain showers in July and May that litter the ground
with innocent play
like beautiful snow that plaques the ground
with layers of pure white
playing around in the air
the ceiling does no justice to the playing in my head
the top does not do my brain fair
As expected as can be
I look alive and still dead in the middle of the floor
playing with my hair and looking up above
I can see things that no one else can
I can see heaven in the eyes of a lover
I can see heaven when I look at my grandmother's grave
I can see even when I'm blind
and sometimes I wonder how can one who's
blind see so perfectly the world in another view
it's ironic and it's strange
but then again the world does not hand you apples
when you ask for oranges or grapes
the world is not a pearl or oyster but
something ironic sitting in a galaxy
rotating on its own
around one golden star facing
eastward or westward
either way it goes
the faces stay the same
you would never notice anyone
if they all didn't become a normal blur
that you pass everyday
the ceiling does no justice to my mind play
the ceiling does no justice to my fair play
looking alive and staring up out of the floor
boring my brain with thoughts of amor
I can see myself in years from now
I can see myself in days again
looking at the mirror
does no justice
looking at the mirror
I still see the same world
wishing for the ending
wishing to see the beginning
does the world puzzle you not
with it's confusing puzzles
and light hearted life
staring up out of the floor and pretending to be alive
seems to be the best way to summarize
the world's view
Be always safe,
Karen
