Dark Brown Eyes
When I look into your dark brown eyes, I try to see what you see.
Looking at the world inquiringly wondering where you are.
When I look into your dark brown eyes, looking trustingly at me,
All I want to do is fulfill the trust you have in me.
When I look into your dark brown eyes, I see the promise of all you are going to be.
I tell myself that I will do all I can to make sure you fulfill that bright promise.
When I look into your dark brown eyes, I see your future bright and clear,
A future full of hope, joy, laughter, love, happiness, success and long life.
All I can say to myself is I’ll see you make it there, to that future that’s bright and clear.
When I look into your dark brown eyes, I see the love that only we can share, a love between parent and child, no other can compare.
I thank the Lord that you are mine, I thank the Lord for this bond we share, and I want you to know that no matter how far you go, I will always be here for you.
