UNFASHIONABLE STATEMENT
He looked smashing in the new black shirt.
We're both such schleps (and proud of it).
He explained, I bought it for a funeral for sixty five bucks. Holy money!
He's already drowning in debt.
I instructed: return the shirt pronto.
When the clerk asks the reason, simply state, I needed to dress for mourning, then heard that the deceased believes in eternal life.
Say this, even if you're unsure about the hearsay,
the tenet, or both. Even if you're slightly
mendacious, it is simply inarguable that
white lies go best with black suits.
Now then, take the dough and invest in
several impressive-looking books instructing
in matters of everlasting life: its logistics,
how-to's, exultations. Never don black again.
Until it's your turn. Books can be little coffins
cranked out by white or black-garbed gurus.
I don't know about trading a semi-useful black shirt for the guru books. A lot more options with the garb and the books??? Well I hear the Sears and Roebucks catalog once had an alternate use also. Patrick
Julie, I had a black shirt once. They buried me in it.

By the way, in case I forgot to mention it, I like the way
you write. -gene.
I have read a few of those books cranked out by so called gurus myself lately. I don't know if they will give me eternal life however.:)I like your sense of humor pretty lady.
Do I detect an acid untertone here Julie, or is it just sympathic pain along side yours, this could be serious, especially when one is prone to see things in black and white, ha, or maybe it's just acid reflux from the potato panackes and the slivowitze, I hear ya kid,

Refundable poetry! Neiman-Marcus has the gold intaglio books but they don't come cheap...Timothy Leary, our acid guru is smiling down from heaven, Julianza...be well my Colorado girl...
Welcome!
The poems in this beautifully bound book are a result of over twenty years of observations. Observations of the world around us and on the telecommunications network. All of the hate, love, heroism, disasters, and those who help.

Robin Ouzman Hislop's poetry is certainly in dialogue with some of the key architects of the 'poetics of indeterminacy' – both the Modernist strands represented by the likes of Beckett and Stein, and the postmodernist strands represented, initially,
(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
