The impact that my mother had upon this life of mine,
would fill so many volumes, if I could only find the time.
The singing trips to Mamaw's house and delicacies from the stove
Fill my thoughts of yesteryear with so many things I love.
Christmases from my childhood days still dance inside my dreams.
And Mom would sit throughout the years and watch so many teams.
"I know you can.", and "You can do that." were words I heard a lot.
She made me feel that I was the best whether I was or not.
The arbiter, the critic, the queen, the nurse the clown;
a writer, gardener, taxi driver; well respected throughout the town.
Who would have guessed the impact and how the love has grown
from this teacher of so many things, so many of them not known.
